Antidote for Winter

We here in Squeakerville have gotten our first real taste of winter. Fortunately this year it was a few inches rather than a few feet for our December snowfall. None the less, little girls who go out in the snow expect one thing when the get back.

HOT CHOCOLATE!

Have a good week. Enjoy the lunar eclipse tonight!

That's Why They Call Them Terrors...

Squeaker has had an eventful week by any measure. We had a fun evening this week watching the Daddy person's Alma Mater play basketball. We left before they lost, so she and I both had fun. We then caught the local production of the Nutcracker. Squeaker very much enjoyed the first three quarters, but by then was ready to leave. Unlike basketball, I wouldn't leave the ballet early.

In between was her four year old check-up. She's still on the 92nd percentile in height (which would be why I will let her leave basketball games early - I want her to enjoy them. The night before her check up she was worried about getting a shot (which she did). And that, we surmise is why she had a visit from the night terrors.

The do after all call them night 'terrors' and not night 'discomforts' for a reason. She was softly crying in her sleep and so the grown ups went in to comfort her. Our attempts mainly ended up getting her to cry less softly, but when we finally get her seemingly conscious, Squeaker asked for a cup of water.

Once she drank her shot of water, she asked for milk, and we brought her a glass. She drank down a decent sized glass of milk in single long gulp.

She then looked at me and screamed at the top of her lungs for about twenty seconds. Five minutes after that she was asleep. While I may sound callous, the next time, the Daddy person is not going to get her milk.

Have a good week.

Lights, Camera, Winter!

Squeaker and the Daddy person took some time out from their busy schedules of colds and school to go see and outdoor Christmas light display. We had a great time, except that it was really, really cold! It took until this evening for my hands to thaw, so sorry for the late post...
