Squeaker Maul

No, Squeaker hasn't gotten herself on the bad side of a bunch of wild dogs.  Instead, she had a blast (pun intended) at a Star Wars light birthday party.

We have watched both trilogies now. Her favorite movie is Episode 2 (or the 5th movie depending on your point of view). Squeaker would take note of her lightsaber color. The Daddy person fields regular questions of the form, "What color is 'insert name here's lightsaber?" Or "Which Jedi have green lightsabers?" Mostly the Daddy person's answers revolve around, "Oh, look at that, they are different colors aren't they." Enjoy the week. The post from last week will be up as soon as I can get the footage of her playing uploaded.

No News Yet...

The Daddy person was out of town this weekend and so doesn't have much new news on the Squeaker front.  She will be playing the piano Thursday night at her school, so I will be putting up an extra post before the weekend.

And y'all thought I'd disappeared again....

[Note, unfortunately Squeaker was not feeling well, so she didn't get to participate in the musical. As it turns out she wasn't playing in it anyway.  She will be next week however, so stay tuned.]

Squeaker's First Camping Trip

Squeaker went on her first camping trip this weekend. Don't worry, it was camping, not backpacking, so the Daddy person only made her carry her clothes and blanket to our campsite.  We had been talked earlier in the week how she should remind herself, before we got there that she wouldn't have anything to worry about, because Daddy and his friends knew what they were doing.

I can report that Squeaker had a very good time. We made camp and hiked up to the lodge to look at the view, along the way we saw some very tame wildlife.  (we discovered the next morning that they slept about 200 yards from our campsite).  After that short hike we made dinner.  Burgers for squeaker, green curry couscous for the Daddy person.

And after that?  S'mores of course!  Once she came off the sugar we went to bed (it had gotten cold, so the Daddy person had to abandon his thoughts of reading by the campfire).  She got to hear stories about my first night camping, and before I knew it we were both asleep.  We had an old style flashlight on for a night light.  It burned out about halfway through the night.  She woke up and asked about it and took the news with a "that's ok." and rolled over and went back to sleep.  The next morning we had banana pancakes (the Daddy person brought oatmeal, but left it in the box) and after we cleaned up camp, we went and met some of the local raptors.

She had a great time and looking forward to going back again.  So is the Daddy person.  Have a good week.

Squeakerpants.com is Back in Action

Squeaker and I are spending the weekend in country with her grandparents. No pancakes this morning, since the Daddy person exercised his option to oversleep. I have gone back and filled in some posts from February, March, and April of this year. So for those of you who have been complaining about looking at a closet full of shoes, now there's something more for you to see.

Easter Weekend

Squeaker, Beth, and the Daddy person spent a nice easter weekend at the beach. I will let the pictures tell the story, but suffice it to say Squeaker found her basket faster than I found mine. In my defense I found her's really fast too.

Sleepover!

Squeaker had a big weekend, one of her cousins-to-be had a birthday party. Afterwards she had a sleepover, her first at her cousins house. We met and hiked all over Maymont the next day. You don't think the experience tired her out do you?
