Squeaker knows how to stand up on her own. She has been very close for a while, but finally did it this morning. Attached is a picture of her in her crib. Of course this means all new problems at nap time!
Squeaker is getting a little bored with her toys so we are trying to be creative. Today she had a GREAT time playing with an empty chip can filled with coins. (Don't worry the top was taped closed). She laughed so hard while shaking and rolling it!
Here is a picure of me shaking the can and her reaction!!
Squeaker can now get herself into a sitting position all by herself! Yesterday was her first time. She is growing so fast. She crawls like an "army" man with two arms and one leg or as her Aunt Brite says she "slides with style." She can now go ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE!!
She wants to stand up and hang on the couch, but has not quite figured out how yet.
Squeaker is almost a crawler! She has been trying all day to move forward. She slid around on the hardwood floor downstairs. This evening, she "crawled", in a sense, to get a book that was out of reach. WIth a little more practice I think she'll get it!!!
Squeaker gained almost a pound in the last two weeks!! She's weighs 16 lbs. 4 oz. When she's in the mood she rolls like crazy! She's still not very fast but she makes up for that with determination! This morning while I was cleaning out the closet Squeaker rolled under our bed! Her dad and I cannot leave ANYTHING of the floor now! Her new nickname is "Chatty Cathy" because she babbles almost constantly! She knows "mama" and I've heard her say "nana" and "blah" today.
Here's a new picture of Squeaker. She's growing so fast!!! She can roll now. My guess is we will have to baby proof the house when she learns how to get around faster.
She wants to sit up, but cannot figure out how yet. Her head is too heavy to do it the way she wants to do it.
