Squeaker the Road Warrior

As I write this post (a little late, yes) Squeaker is headed home from Ohio. She was there for training for a gig as a flower girl. Unfortunately, from a travel point of view, she will be headed back across that fine state on Friday, en route to another gig.

One way or another, the Daddy person is looking forward to seeing her again.

Curious Squeaker

Curious Squeaker is is little girl and always very curious.

Squeaker had another chance to see her Aunt (no, not Brite) in musical theater. It was her second time seeing Annie, and while a little fidgety she did a fine job sing along with the chorus.

Last week, Curious Squeaker and Brite were on the way to visit one of Squeakers friends, who as it happens has blonde hair. Unprompted, Squeaker announced that "I would like to have blonde hair. I don't want mine to be brown any more. Do you think my friend wants to have brown hair, Aunt Brite?"

Editors Note: The Daddy person didn't think that this was ever the case, but apparently Squeaker's friend has asked about being a brunette, like Squeaker and Brite. And yes, Squeaker's friends all call Brite, 'Brite'.

Squeaker continued, "Yesterday when we went to get the TV test, I saw boxes with different color hair on them and little loops of hair underneath. Can I buy one of those boxes and change my hair to yellow?"

"No Squeaker"

"But we buy toothpaste there."

Enjoy the week. Sorry for missing last week, Squeaker and Brite were on a little road trip, and with his muse gone, the Daddy person was a little focused on the pending arrival of his hundreds of other children.

Chatty in Chattanoga

Squeaker is back from her whirlwind tour of Tennessee. We had a wonderful time wandering our way though the city. We decided to let her tell you about it.

Have a good week!

Tethering in Tennessee

Squeaker and the Daddy person are hanging out in Tennessee for the week. We're just starting to get our bearings, but since we're here for a couple of days, I'll be sure to upload reports this week.

Friendship

Squeaker is getting used to being away from her friends at our old house, but they have been keeping the US Postal Service going with letters and drawings headed back and forth up the road. Those friends who she's known her whole life have graced these pages often. Hopefully she will always know where to find them.

What I find interesting too, are a couple friends she has who live around 500 and 10000 miles away, who she has only spent time with a handful of times, but spends months wanting to play with again, despite oceans of obstacles.

Enjoy the week.

Baseball

Squeaker and the Daddy person went to another baseball game this weekend. At least part of my motivation was to makeup for having missed fireworks on the 4th (she got eaten by bugs on the 3rd), but mainly I was hoping by getting seats close to the action, I might interest her more in the game. I succeeded in getting us close, but mostly she seemed to be interested in kettle corn and the kids nearby. She did enjoy calculating the number of outs left each inning and the number of innings left in the game. However, even the promise of fireworks couldn't keep us past the 7th inning.

Given the disaster that had been parking at the game, the Daddy person didn't mind leaving ahead of everyone else. Besides, we don't want to sour her on our game. On the plus side, she asked a number of times if we could go to a basketball game again.

Remember to Smile

No, I didn't tell her to smile for the camera this time. I don't think she'd have heard me anyway.

Instead, I offer that as advice for our readers, many whom will probably find that hard to do this weekend.
