Squeaker and her fan club have finished their relocation. We did in fact miss last week's post, but fear not our hiatus is over and we have resumed our regular Saturday morning schedule. As most of our regular readers realize, these Saturday morning posts conveniently come out most Mondays.
Squeaker is adjusting well to her new house. We eased the transition with a new, big-girl bed, and movable, removable stickers so she could personalize her room. It doesn't help that we have a pool and a playground in our neighborhood. The amenities haven't stopped her from occasionally wanting go back to our old house and spend time with her friends.
This weekend, she attended her first baseball game. It was hot (of course) and after she'd had her ballpark frank she was ready to go home. Unfortunately the first inning wasn't over yet the first time she made that request. Ultimately a snow cone and the promise of a post game fireworks display cooled her off and gave her something to look forward to after the game. Despite our root-root-rooting for the home team, they lost in extra innings. Squeaker seemed to think the fireworks were worth the wait, but she hasn't asked to go back to a game yet. I think it might be worth taking her to a minor league game so she can see better see the action.
We rounded out our first weekend at our new home, away from home, seeing old friends from near and far away. Long-time readers will remember that a couple of her stuffed animals were named after friends. She got to hang out with them again this weekend and had a blast. Since we returned home, she's been complaining about some of the choices made by the USMC Office of Personnel Management.
That's all the news that's fit to print. Squeaker starts swimming lessons tomorrow. Stay tuned for her 25 meter times.
